Apple has released the much-awaited iOS 18 at its WWDC 2024 keynote event. iOS 18 is one of the biggest iOS overhauls in recent times, with new home screen customization options, Apple Intelligence, improved Siri, writing tools, ChatGPT integration and more. Here is the complete list of iPhones that will receive the iOS 18 update.
iOS 18 supported devices
Apple has already released the iOS 18 developer beta, which allows users to try out new features. However, Apple Intelligence features are not yet included, as they are expected to arrive this fall.
Generally, iPhones receive updates for about five years from their release date. Every year, some older models are removed from the list of supported devices. However, Apple has occasionally extended support beyond that time frame for certain models.
Last year, the iPhone XR and newer devices received the iOS 17 update. Given that the iPhone XR has completed its usual update cycle, we expect it to be released this time around. Interestingly, it is still supported for iOS 18.

How to Install iOS 18 Developer Beta
iOS 18 is currently available as a developer beta, with a public beta expected in July. Keep in mind that the developer beta may contain bugs and glitches. If you are comfortable with the potential issues or have a spare iPhone, you can download and test it.
To install iOS 18 Developer Beta, register yourself Apple’s developer program Go to the first then settings > General > Software update > Beta updatesand choose iOS 18 Developer Beta. Once an update is available, install it. I recommend backing up your iPhone before updating to ensure you can roll back to iOS 17 without losing your data.
If the option isn’t available, make sure your iPhone is running the latest software and you’re enrolled in the Apple Developer Program. You can also install iOS 18 beta manually using Finder or iTunes Restore files from Apple.
Our team has installed the first developer beta on iPhone 13, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro and so far have not encountered any major bugs or usability issues.
